Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the antibacterial effect of Virgin coconut oil on Pseudomonasa aeruginosa,
Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Proteus vulgaris. Disk-diffusion method was used to determine the
inhibitory activity. Two-way Analysis of Variance and Duncan's Multiple Range Test was used to determine the
significance of the results.
Results showed that the virgin coconut oil has highly significant effect on pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureu, Escherichia coli and Proteus vulgaris. P. vulgaris is most sensitive followed by P. aeruginosa, S. aureus. E. Coli is the most resistant to virgin coconut oil.
